Osceola County Hotel Fire

A hotel fire forced hundreds of people out of their rooms Monday morning and investigators say it was set intentionally.

The fire happened at the Econolodge on west 192 in Osceola County.

Guests were allowed back in their rooms around noon on Monday, about three hours after being evacuated.

Firefighters are taking their time with the investigation because they say this fire is definitely suspicious. Their first clue is that when they arrived for the fire in one room. They found there were also fires in two additional rooms, all three burning at the same time and in three separate parts of the building.

The smoke alarms went off and guests were asked to leave just before nine Monday morning.
