Woman sentenced to prison for role in Davenport hotel
fire
DAVENPORT, Iowa It's ten years in prison for a woman
involved in a fire at a historic hotel in Davenport.
Melissa Elias of Victoria, Illinois, pleaded guilty
last month to drug and second-degree arson charges.
She was sentenced yesterday in Scott County District
Court.
Elias was helping a man cook methamphetamine in the
Blackhawk Hotel when a fire erupted in their room
last February. The fire caused heavy damage to the
eighth floor of the building.
John Heberer, address unknown, was convicted last
month of first-degree arson, possession of explosive
materials and drug possession with intent to deliver.
His sentencing is set for October fourth. |
