Public Telephones

Provide one house telephone and minimum of one (public) pay phone for each 100 keys plus one phone per 185 m2 (2,000 sq. ft) of Function Space

Phone Booths: Enclosed spaces are preferred; 1.2 x 1.4 m (4’-0” x 4’-6”) booth; provide counter at 81 cm (32 inch) above floor and phone book shelf below. Allow for chair and knee space..

Location:
• Position telephones for easy identification but discreetly located for privacy in heavy traffic areas, otherwise wall phones in vestibules may be provided in other areas. • Generally, group in foyers positioned with coatrooms and toilet rooms in an area serving public spaces

Features:
• Include electrical outlet for one phone near front desk and one outlet in each bank of phones. Mount below shelf to connect portable TTY device and credit card • Provide house phones on shelf and lead cord through hole at back of shelf to phone jack below.
• Provide phone areas, counter and seat with millwork / finishes equal to public area design.
• Comply with governing accessibility regulations including quantity, clearance and reach
